Job Overview: Midwest Staffing is seeking a dedicated Production Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in GMP Production and possess mechanical knowledge to ensure the efficient operation of our manufacturing processes. Multiple shifts available: 1st shift hours: 4am - 2:30pm (Monday - Thursday) 2nd shift hours: 2:00PM - 12:30AM (Monday-Thursday) Weekend shift: 6am - 6pm (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) Responsibilities: - Production technician effectively perform duties to set up, change over, troubleshoot, and operate all aspects of production equipment to ensure production output meets the production schedule. - Effectively coordinate and perform tasks as they relate to production technician's needs for change parts - Effectively manages production areas so that production output meets the production schedule. - Understand and maintain a culture of “lean action” as a production technician within the department. - Production technician will perform other work as assigned. Qualifications: Prior Experience & Technical Skills/Competencies: - A high school diploma or GED is required - Prefer a minimum of 3-5 years prior manufacturing experience, preferably on high-speed packaging lines that use conveyors. - Prefer 1-3 years’ experience in a maintenance/repair/set up position, ideally with high-speed mechanical or electromechanical equipment and systems. - Demonstrated mechanical and electromechanical skills. - Demonstrated working knowledge of hand tools in both Standard and metric. - Demonstrated working knowledge of fasteners, standard and metric or possesses the skills to learn this task. - Must possess solid communication skills and read and write at the 6th grade level, 12th grade level preferred. Knowledge Requirements: To be effective, a production technician requires an ability to follow directions as well as written processes and procedures. -Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and the ability to be able to work with fractions and decimals. Technical Competencies: - Demonstrates good documentation practices. - Can demonstrate attention to detail. - Can follow directions accurately and safely. - Understands and can do basic math and measurements.
