Overview Visual Studio Copilot is redefining how millions of developers build, understand, and evolve software inside the world’s most powerful IDE. As a Product Manager on the Visual Studio Copilot team, you will shape intelligent, AI‑powered developer experiences that are deeply integrated into Visual Studio - bringing together chat, code completions, integrated IDE actions, and agentic capabilities into a cohesive, trusted copilot. This role sits at the intersection of developer productivity, AI platform capabilities, and large‑scale IDE ecosystems. You will work across multiple Visual Studio and Copilot teams to drive a unified product vision that helps developers move faster while maintaining quality, control, and trust. DDJL Responsibilities Own product strategy and roadmap for key Visual Studio Copilot experiences, balancing nearterm execution with longterm platform vision. Define and evolve end-to-end developer workflows across chat, inline assistance, completions, and IDE entry points to ensure Copilot feels cohesive, predictable, and valuable. Partner closely with engineering, design, research, and data science to ship high quality, scalable AI powered features inside Visual Studio. Translate developer needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and success metrics, grounded in real customer pain points and usage signals. Drive cross team alignment across Visual Studio, Copilot, and adjacent AI platform teams to reduce fragmentation and deliver a unified experience. Understand the competitive landscape (e.g., AInative IDEs and assistants) and help define strategies that differentiate Visual Studio Copilot on trust, depth, and enterprise readiness. Use data and experimentation to evaluate feature impact, iterate quickly, and guide investment decisions. Engage with customers and partners through feedback sessions, previews, and internal field readiness to ensure Copilot meets realworld developer needs. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience. Other Requirements Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience building apps, using developer tools and processes Previous experience working in or with AI/LLM Previous experience working on developer tools and/or frameworks Previous experience working as a software engineer Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
