Overview The Growth Analytics team within the IDEAS organization at Microsoft is a mission-driven group that is focused on enabling product-led growth through experimentation, analytics, and AI-powered insights. Designers here are tasked with creating intuitive experiences that turn data into clear insights and empower decision making across campaign performance, funnel optimization, and privacy-compliant growth strategies. They collaborate closely with PMs and Engineers to shape our platforms and drive measurable growth across the Microsoft ecosystem. This role blends strategic design thinking with deep engagement in data-driven product development. And the best workplace leads to the best products and services. The IDEAS team is seeking a Senior Product Designer who can inspire, define, articulate, and deliver exceptional solutions. You will be responsible for gaining a deep understanding of your stakeholders needs and desires, then using these insights to create an experience design strategy and final deliverables. You must be able to communicate your ideas using a variety of methods, from storytelling to sketches to fully rendered designs. You will work closely with Product Management and Engineers, as well as other design teams, Copilot teams, and app partners, to meticulously bring ideas to life. Responsibilities Design Excellence: Understand the behaviors, motivations, and needs of our customers to develop and deliver relevant and impactful experiences. In-depth understanding of Design Systems and how to deliver impactful experiences within those constraints. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interact with research, product managers, engineers, and executive stakeholders to define, iterate, and implement new and existing product features, ensuring alignment with business, technical, and user requirements. You will work with user researchers to coordinate testing efforts, interpret test results, and incorporate results into design efforts. Participate in and contribute to foundational research. Compelling Communication & Storytelling: Present design concepts and decisions to cross functional partners and stakeholders, articulating design rationale clearly and effectively. Mentorship: Foster a culture of creativity and innovation through mentorship and collaboration with other designers Qualifications Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems). Other Requirements: Resume must include a link to design portfolio. Preferred Qualifications: 4+ years experience shipping products to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process. Experience designing for growth, where design solutions are evaluated based on usage, growth, or retention metrics. Experience that demonstrates proven ability to advocate for design thinking, effectively influence design outcomes, discover problems and tackle them in fast-paced environments. Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
