We’re building Azure as the world’s computer. Azure is built upon three core services: Compute, Networking and Storage. The Azure Storage Hardware Platform Team is the engine that powers the Azure Storage cloud services. The team is looking for a Product Manager II - Azure Storage to work on a unique and highly visible role with major scope to identify and operationalize new storage technologies and Microsoft Azure platforms. You will be responsible for identifying new storage technologies and analyzing business opportunities. You will have the opportunity to recommend business investments in a broad range of technical areas, and to integrate with multiple component teams inside Microsoft Azure as well as across the company. You will work across hardware and software engineering teams, datacenter teams, finance and sourcing teams and more to put together the end-to-end plan to create and build the next generation Azure storage platform. Responsibilities • Analytical skills and pragmatic technical judgment to assess and make the right decisions. • Engineering for distributed, reliable, and scalable systems. • Proven track record of delivering features and capabilities for complex platforms that meet evolving business requirements. • Experience presenting plans and getting buy off with senior technical leaders. • Cross group collaboration with the ability to influence and drive change across groups. • Hands-on experience with software/hardware lifecycle management. • Experience working on Microsoft (or other industry) large scale services and good understanding of storage hardware (HW) technologies is a plus. Qualifications Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development. • OR equivalent experience • 2+ years of experience with Storage/Compute Server Hardware Design. • 2+ years of experience with Cloud Storage Hardware Architecture. • 1+ years of experience with Distributed Storage Systems and Software. Other Req • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience. • 1+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects. • 1+ years of experience handling ambiguity and resolving it with reasoning and autonomy. Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
