Deadline: January 12, 2026 District/Organization: Fraser Public Schools Position/Type: Teacher, full time Salary: In Accordance with the Negotiated Contract Position Details FRASER PUBLIC SCHOOLS FRASER, MICHIGAN TITLE: SPECIAL EDUCATION RESOURCE ROOM TEACHER QUALIFICATIONS: • Valid Michigan teaching certificate • Full approval in at least one area of special education • Must have (or secure within the first school year) CPI certification • Meet the requirements as specified in the most recent Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education and/or Building Administrator SUPERVISES: Not Applicable JOB GOAL: To provide special education students with a program that will enable them to reach their fullest physical, emotional, cognitive and behavioral potential. ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES: • Serve as a team member providing diagnostic and programming expertise and contributing to the identification of and program elements for special education students • Develop, implement and monitor individual education plans for each student • Work cooperatively with general education classroom teachers who have students with special education needs in general education classes to ensure the implementation of accommodations and modifications for the classroom and statewide assessments, interpreting the abilities and disabilities of these students to the staff • Confer with parents and professional staff members regarding the educational, social, and personal challenges of each student • Assist and advise students with educational and personal issues • Assist students in making realistic assessments of their abilities and in establishing educational and social goals in keeping with these abilities • Implement and maintain valid monitoring of social and academic progress • Implement the District’s emergency use of seclusion and restraint if a student’s behavior poses an imminent risk to the safety of that student or others • Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities the Director of Special Education may assign. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Ten (10) month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education. EVALUATION: The Director of Special Education and/or a designee will evaluate Performance of this job annually.
