Deadline: January 31, 2026 District/Organization: L’Anse Creuse Public Schools Position/Type: Central Office – 1st Line Admin, full time Salary: $129,142.97 – $135,939.97 Position Details REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned. 1. Accounts for all financial transactions of the district through supervision of staff and month end processes. 2. Prepares and /or reviews all state and federal reports. 3. Financial management oversite of all federal and state grants for the district (Title I, Title II, Title III, IDEA, 31a, etc…) assuring compliance with accounting and procurement regulations. 4. Coordinates the completion of the annual audit including the A-133 Federal Audit. Acts as liaison on behalf of the district with communication to/from auditors. 5. Completes all tax forms authorizing townships to collect taxes on behalf of the district. Prepare the annual L-4029 for review by immediate supervisor. 6. Prepares monthly financial reports for review by immediate supervisor. 7. Manages the daily cash flow process including the wires and transfers. Maintains cash flow projections and updates the Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations. Prepares analysis to determine if State Aid Borrowing is necessary for review of supervisor. 8. Responsible for supervising and managing district investments. 9. Prepares budget based on assumptions provided and analyzes accounts for variances. Makes recommendations as needed. Uploads and balances approved budget to the general ledger system. Disseminates budget information to the departments. 10. Meets with non-instructional departments on their financial results of actual to budget and advise Assistant Superintendent of issues. 11. Works with human resources to assure correct pay for employees and instruct staff to resolve issues. Assists immediate supervisor in contract negotiations. 12. Creates issues, analyzes and recommends Request for Proposals while assuring compliance with federal and state laws. Provide guidance to administrators on proper purchasing procedures. 13. Responsible for the day-to-day risk management and insurance claims reporting for the district. 14. Responsible for overseeing the accounting of the fixed assets of the district. 15. Supervises business office team to coordinate with building bookkeepers on proper accounting and internal controls. 16. Attends Board meetings, as required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages the day-to-day operations of the Business Office. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting with interviewing, recommending, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor’s Degree and 5-8 years of school district accounting experience will be considered. • 5-8 years or more of related experience in accounting, with 4-6 years in school district accounting preferred. • 6 or more years of progressively responsible work experience in a financial management position, preferred. • Advanced technology skills in Microsoft Excel required. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Proficiency with all office software such as Microsoft Outlook. Microsoft 365, Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and AS400 accounting system. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
