Job Description Key Responsibilities of the Tooling Engineer II are: • Design and develop tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing solutions using SolidWorks 3D modeling and detailed 2D drawings with GD&T. • Reverse engineer legacy tooling and create production-ready documentation to modern engineering standards. • Maintain and improve existing tooling systems to enhance production efficiency, reduce downtime, and ensure quality compliance. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, and Test Engineering to support assembly and production operations. • Manage small-to-medium tooling projects, including vendor coordination, fabrication oversight, budgeting, and scheduling. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on lean manufacturing, cost reduction, and throughput optimization. The Successful Applicant The Successful Applicant Will have: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field. • 2-5 years of tooling design or manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing. • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, GD&T application, and production drawing creation. • Hands-on experience supporting machining, assembly, and manufacturing floor operations. • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve tooling and fixture-related production challenges. • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
