Job description Medical Office Job Description This list may not include all of the duties that may be assigned. • Our ENT office is looking for a FULL TIME bilingual candidate who is able to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 am-3:00 pm or 8:00 am-4:00 pm. • Candidates must be reliable, dependable, detailed oriented, and work well under pressure. • Candidates must be bilingual. Fluent in Spanish and English. • Candidates must be able to follow instructions and adhere to office policies and procedures. • Job description includes: • Check-in/ Check-out patients in a timely manner • Mark patients accordingly in ECW EMR system when they check in and check out • Collect and enter patient information into EMR system making sure information in system is accurate • Check balances and credits. Discuss and interpret patient balance information • Collect co-pay and/or payments according to insurance plan • Answer incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner • Answer phones and screen calls • Schedule appointments according to our office scheduling policies • Receive and convey messages electronically, in writing and verbally when needed • Complete calls at the end of each work day • Verify insurance, including patient’s copay, deductible, co-insurance and out of pocket • Complete and/or obtain insurance authorization for office visits, procedures, and Imaging orders • Maintain work area and lobby in a neat and orderly manner • Continuously be able to work as a team with other staff members to get tasks done in a quick and efficient manner. • Participate in staff and educational meetings Education • High School Diploma or equivalent Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Ability to learn & practice office procedures, policies and protocols • Requires proficient grammar, spelling and verbal skills to communicate with patients, providers and staff in written documents • Ability to read, comprehend, follow oral and written instructions • Interact effectively, supportively with staff & maintain a professional working relation • Provide excellent customer service; greet, & receive patients/ visitors in a prompt, courteous, professional and helpful manner • Maintain professional and excellent phone skills & etiquette, must be able to speak clearly • Use good judgment & maintain patient confidentiality • Must be able to file alphabetically and numerically • Requires experience in using a computer system, scanner, printer, fax etc. Experience: • Work experience in a medical office setting • Knowledge of computer and medical terminology • Adhere to all organizational information security policies and protect all sensitive information including but not limited to ePHI and PHI in accordance with organizational policy, Federal, State, and local regulations Benefits • 90 day probationary waiting period applies COVID-19 Precaution(s): • Personal protective equipment provided or required • Social distancing guidelines in place • Sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place' ' Benefit Conditions: • Waiting period may apply COVID-19 Precaution(s): • Personal protective equipment provided or required • Temperature screenings • Social distancing guidelines in place • Sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place Work Location: • One location Work Remotely • No Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Job Type: Full-time Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour Education: • High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience: • Customer service: 1 year (Preferred) • Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred) • Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred) Work Location: In person
