POSITION SUMMARY: Provides direct maintenance services and coordinates and oversees contract maintenance services for the properties assigned to Community Housing. Training and/or technical education in mechanics, carpentry, appliance/air conditioner/furnace repair and tool usage a plus. DUTIES: Will provide direct maintenance services to properties owned and operated within the service district per the Tri-County Board service contract with oversight by the Maintenance Lead. Services may include but are not limited to electrical work, plumbing, painting, roofing, carpentry, laying carpet, dry walling, preventative work (i.e. changing furnace filters), glass work, mowing, landscaping and snow removal. Will research, assist in selection and oversee any work completed by a contract worker or firm on any properties owned and operated within the service district. Will maintain accurate historical records of the type of repairs, cost and materials completed for each property. Will assist Maintenance Lead in the keeping a current log of repairs and upgrades needed in order to maintain Board facilities in good condition. Will respond to after hours maintenance issues at owned and operated properties as scheduled. Will work closely with community behavioral health staff to promote high quality and effective services by strategizing and promoting communication and cooperation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there will be exposure to sounds created by power tools and those created by motorized equipment. Will be required to travel throughout the service district and enter and work in system owned and operated facilities. May occasionally come in contact with insects and infestations and will follow agency protocol in addressing and eliminating these issues.
