Job Summary We are actively seeking an experienced and compassionate Physician Assistant to support our board-certified Cardiologist in delivering exceptional patient care across both hospital and office settings. You will collaborate closely with the cardiologist and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your advanced skills in acute and chronic cardiac care, ensuring optimal health outcomes for diverse patient populations. Responsibilities • Round daily with the Cardiologist at our affiliated Chicago-area hospitals • Conduct history & physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate treatment plans under physician supervision • Independently see follow-up, post-procedure, and chronic cardiology patients in our Chicago office • Assist with pre- and post-procedure triage and patient education • Manage inpatient consults, progress notes, and discharge planning • Handle patient phone calls/messages and medication refills according to practice protocols • Participate in quality initiatives and practice growth Skills • Extensive experience with EMR systems including Epic, or eClinicalWorks; proficient in medical records management and data entry. • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, anatomy, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and pharmacology related to cardiac care. • Ability to interpret diagnostic tests including echocardiograms, nuclear imaging, radiology reports, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical imaging relevant to cardiology. • Knowledge of hospital medicine standards including discharge planning, post-acute care coordination, hospice & palliative medicine considerations. • Strong communication skills for effective patient education on complex medical information.
