The Energy Manager for Natural Gas Commercial Operations and Markets will play a key role in advancing Meta’s onsite generation strategy by supporting the development of a broad portfolio of cost-effective energy sources aligned with the company’s strategic goals. This position requires expertise and hands-on experience in natural gas procurement, sales, transportation, and portfolio optimization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical skills in assessing market fundamentals, possess a thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks, and offer broad knowledge across commercial, regulatory, technical, and financial aspects of natural gas markets. Responsibilities Build and maintain relationships with key market participants (producers, traders, utilities, transport companies) Develop and execute strategies for natural gas procurement, sales, and transport Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, transporters, and customers Monitor and analyze natural gas market trends, pricing, and supply/demand dynamics Prepare market reports, forecasts, and presentations for internal stakeholders Interface with internal organizations including engineering, data center on-site staff, site development, sustainability, policy, communications, design, construction, legal and finance Support continued development and execution of Meta’s energy strategy for data centers Lead and support various energy projects as needed 25% Travel (Domestically) Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience 10+ years of experience in natural gas markets, commodities trading, or energy transport Understanding of natural gas pricing mechanisms, market structures, and regulatory frameworks Experience with contract negotiation and management (transport, supply, sales) Familiarity with pipeline operations, scheduling, and logistics Experience managing multiple projects and collaborating with internal staff, energy providers, consultants, and external stakeholders Proven analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in standard document and analytics platforms (Excel, Powerpoint, Google Docs, etc.) Proven communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams $170,000/year to $238,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
