Met Weld's manufacturing facility and Quality Assurance Programs deliver a controlled approach to each project and ensure the highest level of quality and service for our customers. Position Met Weld International ("MWI") is seeking a mechanical or electrical intern for the 2026 spring semester to join the activities of its Engineering Department. This position reports to the Engineering Manager in our Altamont, NY facility. Duties and Responsibilities Review and revise drawings as needed based on feedback from engineers, internal customer requests, customers, or project managers. Maintain and organize drawing files, records, and design documentation. Verify measurements and specifications to ensure drawings are accurate and complete. Performs other related duties as assigned in support of Business objectives and plans. Education Junior or Senior currently enrolled in an accredited 4-year college or university Engineering Program. Skills Hands-on individual with a strong mechanical or electrical aptitude. Basic understanding of technical drawing, blueprint reading, and design principles. Attention to detail with strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking. Excellent mechanical and technical skills. Ability to be flexible, motivated, resourceful and organized in a multi-functional role. Solid communication, organization and time management skills. Design Software: Inventor and AutoCAD experience is a preference. Proficient with the Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time. Must be able to access the shop floor to perform inspection of machinery to help assess and record as-built conditions of machinery and fabrication best practices.
