Essential Functions Performed • Deliver approved comprehensive training and education programs that provide customers and personnel with up-to-date information on company products, procedures, and best practices. • Deliver approved content during didactic portions of training. • Provide case support to trained customers (domestic and international) as part of Merit's commitment to the safe and efficacious use of products. • Conducts assessment testing to ascertain the skill level and ability of those individuals being trained, and develop training curriculums and programs to improve knowledge, skill, and ability. • Defines protocol and assists in the field assessment of new product market research trials (MRT’s). • Develops and implements ongoing home-study training course to improve and maintain a high level of product and clinical expertise in the field sales organization. • Conducts ongoing staff training and provide clinical feedback to resolve customer related issues. • Serve as clinical expert for the company. • Standardize & computerize (digitalize) sales training materials. • Works with Product Managers to develop sales training and in-servicing videos. • Answers clinical questions from doctors, technicians, sales representatives, etc. • Supports sales and marketing efforts by in-servicing key customers on Merit products. • Works in the field to support and train clinicians on the use of Merit products and to troubleshoot product related issues in the field. • Assess clinical competency of new employees and provide comprehensive feedback and recommendations for improvement. • Writes technical papers to support new emerging markets, segments and niches. • Assist in coordinating and executing Symposiums and other clinical education events. • Develops value added CEU credits to augment sales effort. • Performs other duties and tasks as required. Essential Physical/Environmental Demands • Lifting -- Not to exceed 50 lbs. -- local practice may apply • Writing • Sitting • Standing • Bending • Visual acuity • Color perception • Depth perception • Reading • Field of vision/peripheral Summary Of Minimum Qualifications • Education and/or business experience equivalent to a related Bachelor's Degree. • A minimum of six years of hands-on medical experience. Experience within Endoscopy and/or General Surgery divisions preferred. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to analyze feedback in a training environment to develop strategies to improve knowledge, skills, and abilities. • A thorough understanding of training and development techniques, and the ability to implement a corporate sales training program. • Good analytical skills and the ability to understand complex issues. • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate large programs. • Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs. Preferred Qualifications • Education and clinical experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse or Surgery Technician, or Radiology Technician. • Medical product sales and sales training experience. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
