Mercy is a healthcare organization seeking a Senior AI Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI solutions. The role involves operationalizing AI/ML models, driving software initiatives, and integrating AI technologies into various workflows to enhance personalized care. Responsibilities • Lead the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge AI solutions, including large language models (LLMs) and advanced machine learning (ML) systems • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems and contribute to Mercy’s vision of personalized, predictive, and proactive care Skills • 4 years of experience in AI/ML development and software engineering, with demonstrated success in deploying production-grade AI solutions • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field • Experience mentoring team members or leading technical initiatives • Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++ for AI/ML development • Expertise with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn • Strong skills in NLP, LLM fine-tuning, and prompt engineering • Experience with agentic AI design or orchestration tools (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI) • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Docker, and Kubernetes • Solid database experience (SQL/NoSQL) for structured and unstructured data • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills Benefits • Day-one comprehensive health, vision and dental coverage • PTO • Tuition reimbursement • Employer-matched retirement funds • Medical, dental, and vision coverage • Paid time off • Tuition support • Matched retirement plans for team members working 32+ hours per pay period Company Overview • Mercy is a U.S. health system that provides heart, children’s, and orthopedic care services.
