Position Summary: The National Strategic Account Executive leads enterprise-level growth with national carrier agency relationships and national strategic accounts including: digital agencies, carrier agencies, brokers and jumbo agencies. In this role you will be responsible for executing on the end-to-end partnership lifecycle from onboarding through annual business planning and objective setting. Thus, driving multi-year portfolio expansion, profitability, and a best-in-class agent experience. The National Account Executive participates in cross-functional execution with API integration team, Funnel Optimization team, Underwriting, Product, Marketing, Experience, to deliver a seamless partner experience and achieve our sales vision of becoming a top carrier of choice at target combined ratios. Scope and Impact: This role owns the end-to-end lifecycle for national carrier agency relationships and national digital agencies, from new-partner onboarding through annual business planning and objective setting; accountable for multi year revenue growth, retention, and profit outcomes. • Leads cross-functional initiatives that remove friction, improve quoting/placement throughput, and strengthen Mercury’s differentiated value proposition with partners. • Serves as the point partnership point of escalation their assigned strategic accounts, stewards brand, compliance, and long-term partnership health. Travel Requirement: ~25–45% to partner locations, events, and internal hubs. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions Strategic portfolio leadership – Executes on multi-year growth plans for assigned national accounts territory with clear targets for premium, product mix, retention, and profitability. In this role, the National Strategic Account Executive will own the P&L of the accounts they manage within their assigned territory. Executive presence to lead negotiations with multi-million/billion dollar organizations and expertise in complex, C-suite conversations Leverages analytical skill set and capabilities to make better decisions to drive growth and profit opportunities with strategic accounts. Establish quarterly business reviews with partner executives; align on goals, leading indicators, and mitigation plans to ensure profitable growth and book health. Partner experience and enablement Reduce placement friction by championing initiatives that improve speed-to-bind, discount/packaging visibility, and underwriting responsiveness; leverage UW where applicable to enhance agent experience Drive adoption of digital integrations and prioritized programs that increase throughput with national/digital partners. Cross-functional orchestration Alignment with Product, UW, and Pricing to provide feedback and actionable input on how we can improve our competitive position within the digital journey of assigned national accounts. Provide market feedback to inform roadmap and segmentation strategies. National Account Performance Governance Execute on assigned territory forecast and prospect pipeline health review for the portfolio; define leading indicators (quote volume, hit ratio, bundle rate, premium per policy) and implement remediation plans where appropriate. Establish national account governance: Performance driven communication loops that are grounded in data relevancy and established sales funnel targets, quarterly business reviews for key internal stakeholders and executive partnership leadership, integration upgrades and strategic technology driven initiatives. Performance and compliance Ensure adherence to Mercury policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements; uphold reporting accuracy and auditable processes. Qualifications Education: Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree required, Completion of CPCU, CIC, or advanced degree preferred or equivalent work experience Experience: Minimum: 7+ years in P&C insurance distribution, carrier strategic accounts, or enterprise channel leadership with measurable growth and profitability outcomes or equivalent experience. Proven success leading executive relationships (national brokers, top independents, digital distributors) and complex cross-functional initiatives. Strong command of sales economics and levers (segmentation, product mix, UW responsiveness, incentives, account management). Exceptional communication, influence without authority, and change leadership skills.
