Description The Menlo Circus Club is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Landscaper to oversee and maintain the Club’s beautifully manicured grounds. This position is responsible for the care, preservation, and ongoing enhancement of all floral beds, shrubs, trees, and general landscaping throughout the property. The Head Landscaper will play a key role in upholding the aesthetic standards of the Club while working closely with the Facilities Director to plan and implement seasonal displays and long-term improvements. Requirements • Oversee daily maintenance of all landscape areas including lawns, flower beds, shrubs, hedges, trees, and walkways. • Plan, plant, and care for seasonal floral displays, with special emphasis on the annual planting of tulip beds. • Monitor plant health and address issues related to irrigation, pests, diseases, and soil conditions. • Prune, trim, and shape trees and shrubs to maintain a well-groomed appearance and ensure safety. • Operate and maintain landscape equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and irrigation systems. • Work collaboratively with the Facilities Director to develop and execute landscaping projects that improve the grounds and enhance member experience. • Supervise and direct landscaping staff, including assigning tasks and ensuring all work meets Club standards. • Maintain records of plantings, treatments, maintenance schedules, and material use. • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and best horticultural practices. QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum 5 years of professional landscaping experience. • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) or equivalent experience. • Strong knowledge of California native and ornamental plants, turf management, pruning techniques, and soil health. • Experience with seasonal color planning, including bulb planting and floral design. • Ability to read landscape plans and implement design improvements. • Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines. • Valid California Driver’s License and ability to operate small landscape equipment. • Proficient oral & written communication proficiency in English and Spanish. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. • The position has frequent kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, walking, twisting, reaching, pushing, & • Working conditions are primarily outside with exposure to temperature variations, occasional exposure to insects, insect & animal bites, poisonous plants, & hazardous chemicals • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, bend, stoop, stand, and walk for extended periods. Frequent lifting of 50-100 lbs. Must have the ability to work in the United States unrestricted. PAY: $30.00 - 35.00 USD hourly, full-time, full health benefits, time off, free meals. Pay depends on experience. WORK HOURS: Full-Time Monday - Friday. There could be some weekends due to events.
