Job Summary Position is responsible for identifying issues/opportunities, developing and managing overall project/program budget and schedule, managing design and/or architectural/interior solutions, and the overall delivery within the budget, schedule and quality goals to support the MHHS mission as well as working collaboratively to enhance or enable process improvement for capital construction projects and facility operations. Principal Accountabilities Under general direction, provides technical assistance to facilitate planning and guiding the design, installation, modification and commissioning of capital construction projects as well as development and implementation of architectural standards to expedite design. Manages activities, staff, technical, financial, and administrative resources of a project. Evaluates vendor proposals for purchases of architectural, engineering, equipment and technical services to assure adherence to technical specifications. Serves as the leader on each project to coordinate and supervise the execution of the total scope of work with the user, the design and construction professionals. Analyzes proposed and actual projects in terms of the feasibility of the standards and technology. Provides technical guidance to project managers, external consultants, and other technical staff. Represents owner/management in all design, construction, interior and furniture/fixtures/equipment planning meetings and reports as appropriate; represents owner/management in regulatory agency review and submission. Documents the technical environment for proposed capital projects. Coordinates with contract architects, vendors, engineers and technical staff to address problems of integration, compatibility, and cost comparisons. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff. Coordinates with other internal project management staff including information services (IT), security, materials management, clinical and bio-medical engineering, food service and housekeeping to ensure the budgeting and scheduling of services required to meet desired outcomes Develops schedules for assigned project for design, permitting, construction, equipment procurement, and activation of assigned projects. Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors, adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity of service.
