We’re launching a melodic‑techno act and need a Music Business Manager / Legal Advisor to ensure every deal is clear, fair, and festival‑ready. Role Overview You’ll act as the legal and business backbone for the artist, reviewing contracts, protecting rights, and advising on publishing, royalties, and label/label‑service deals—often in a fractional, on‑demand capacity. What You’ll Do • Review and negotiate contracts (recording, distribution, sync, merch, brand partnerships, touring deals). • Advise on copyright, publishing splits, and royalty structures to keep the artist fairly compensated. • Help structure and review festival, club, and tour‑support deals to ensure clarity on fees, logistics, and technical requirements. • Maintain a central document system for all contracts, riders, and key agreements. • Work with Artist Manager, Booking Agent, and Label partners to clarify red‑flag clauses. Required Qualifications • 3+ years experience in music‑industry law, business management, or label/management‑office work. • Deep understanding of music‑industry standard contracts and publishing basics. • Ability to communicate complex legal language in plain, actionable terms to creatives and managers. • Experience working with independent artists, labels, or managers (electronic music a plus). Nice‑to‑Have • Prior experience negotiating festival or tour‑support deals. • Familiarity with major publishing and label‑service platforms (e.g., CD Baby, DistroKid, TuneCore, etc.).
