Lead and oversee all Workday-related initiatives, ensuring system optimization and governance across the organization.
Extensive experience with Workday, certifications in relevant modules, strong communication skills, and proven leadership in global HR system management.
Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Workday Owner to serve as the primary owner, strategic leader, and expert for Megger’s global Workday platform. This individual will oversee all Workday-related initiatives, act as the central point of contact for Workday questions and enhancements, and ensure the system is optimized to meet global business needs. The ideal candidate will have deep Workday knowledge, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to clearly communicate impacts, options, and best practices to stakeholders at all levels. Rather than working behind the scenes, this person will partner closely with HR and business leaders—guiding them through decisions, explaining implications, and ensuring system integrity. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the Global Workday Owner and primary system owner, providing strategic guidance, governance, and leadership across all modules. • Lead all Workday projects—including enhancements, fixes, integrations, upgrades, and cross-functional initiatives—from planning through execution. • Act as a Workday Owner, ensuring global consistency, accuracy, and alignment with organizational goals. • Collaborate closely with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to understand needs, identify solutions, and communicate impacts clearly and confidently. • Explain system logic and downstream effects of configuration changes (“If we change X, here’s how it will impact Y and Z”), ensuring informed decision-making. • Manage day-to-day Workday operations, including configuration, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and release management. • Drive global Workday governance, ensuring adherence to standards, role structures, security models, and best practices. • Promote system adoption through clear communication, training, and support for users at all levels. • Act as a liaison with Workday and external partners, while maintaining clear ownership of decisions and outcomes internally. Qualifications • Workday certifications in HCM, Talent, Compensation (including Advanced Compensation), or other relevant modules strongly preferred. • 5+ years of experience working with Workday, ideally in a global environment. • Proven success serving as a Workday system owner, champion, or lead, rather than solely as a functional consultant. • Demonstrated experience managing Workday projects, integrations, and cross-functional initiatives. • Strong understanding of global HR processes, organizational structures, compensation cycles, and talent workflows. • Ability to provide expert guidance, recommend setups, optimize business processes, and design scalable global solutions. • Exceptional communication skills—clear, articulate, and informative—both written and verbal. • Confident in explaining system impacts, presenting recommendations, and coaching stakeholders through decisions. • Able to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, global, and highly cross-functional environment.
