Full Description

We are hiring a fully remote Level Funded Underwriter for a great insurance organization! This is a direct hire opportunity with benefits Candidates must be located in Missouri, Texas, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Illinois or Florida Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 based on prior experience Key Responsibilities: • Underwrite 6–8 small group cases per day and up to 12 cases per day during Q4 peak season to support new business growth. • Evaluate risk and determine pricing for level funded small group health insurance plans. • Conduct detailed risk reviews, including analysis of claims history, census data, and group demographics. • Utilize database underwriting tools to analyze and assess group risk profiles. • Apply underwriting guidelines and company policies to determine acceptance, pricing, or required adjustments. • Collaborate with sales, account management, and internal teams to support the quoting and proposal process. • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with underwriting standards and regulatory requirements. • Manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail and turnaround expectations. Required Qualifications: • 2+ years of experience in small group health insurance underwriting • Experience underwriting Level Funded small group plans • At least 1 year of experience using database underwriting tools • Strong risk assessment and risk review experience • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (data analysis, formulas, and spreadsheet management) • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills • Ability to manage a high volume of cases in a fast-paced environment Schedule • 40-hour work week • Operating hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST • Start time between 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM CST • Employees must maintain a consistent weekly schedule
