MedicZero Inc. - PR/Marketing Internship Positions About MedicZero: Each minute that a victim of cardiac arrest does not receive CPR, their chance of survival decreases by 10%. Each minute a stroke patient goes without treatment, 1.9 million neurons die, each of which will never grow back. Despite these troubling statistics, less than 50% of cardiac-arrest victims receive CPR before the ambulance arrives, and it takes an average of over 5 hours for bystanders to notice symptoms of a stroke and call 911. MedicZero Inc. is a community-oriented EMS outreach organization with goals of increasing the pre-hospital survival rate of these and other life-threatening medical events. Our mission is to create a community of passionate individuals interested in emergency and prehospital care, while making an impact in the implementation of emergency care throughout the United States. To do this, we are creating university-based chapters throughout the country, building data-driven emergency medicine curriculums for bystanders and professionals alike to expand their knowledge, and facilitating productive discussion among students and professionals to continue advancing the field of emergency medicine. Position Description: Marketing is key for MedicZero’s growth and success. Through marketing our mission, our work, and our team, we hope to create an increased presence in the larger community. This ultimately draws in new members, chapters, and partnerships. As a PR / marketing intern, you will be responsible for tasks such as brainstorming and implementing marketing strategies, including social media presence, a monthly newsletter, and our website. One of our organization’s goals is to promote the usage of evidence-based emergency medicine practices by encouraging continuous dialogue among the community. Thus far, our team has incorporated and built the infrastructure of this organization, created 5 fully-running university chapters (with more on the way), written physician-approved, data-driven emergency medicine curricula, and taught over 12,000 bystanders in CPR, stroke recognition, and more. This year, we have also piloted our own video-based CPR and first aid curriculum in high schools and have expanded our national leadership to over 45 skilled individuals! As a 2025 intern for MedicZero, you will truly be able to involve yourself in a growing organization from the ground level. We have so many opportunities for our interns to grow in their roles, learn new skills, work with a team, and eventually move on to higher positions such as Managers or C-Suite Officers. Overall, MedicZero interns will have the opportunity to contribute to the establishment and growth of an up-and-coming organization, making an impact in their communities along the way. Internship Duties and Requirements: We are seeking PR / Marketing interns with a variety of specializations. If any one of these fits your skill set, we want to hear from you! These include: • Social Media Management: Utilize your ability to connect with a community through social media channels. This requires strategic thinking and a strong sense of the social media landscape. • Graphic Design: Develop visually distinct materials for our marketing campaigns. You will need proficiency in Canva. • External Communications: Complete outreach to newspapers, news channels, and other media outlets. • Copywriting: Design a monthly newsletter, highlighting the organization’s accomplishments and relevant bystander first aid skills, through “HubSpot” and oversee its performance. • Journalism or Photography: Obtain pictures, and other digital media, during events (community training, journal clubs, etc.) that can be used for marketing purposes. • Web Design: Help design and implement updates to the official website. Proficiency in Squarespace is key. • Analytics: Perform market analysis and research on competition and target demographics.
