Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: Portland Metro Area (Oregon), - Tigard, OR Position Type: Full-Time Salary Range: Undisclosed Travel Percentage: None Description JOB SUMMARY This position contributes to the mission of the organization by providing day-to-day leadership for all aspects of management of medical health products supply chain that flows through Medical Teams’ Tigard distribution located in Oregon. This includes the acquisition, consolidation and distribution of high-quality medical health products as required by Medical Teams programs and other not-for-profit health partner organizations. Parallel to technical competence, recruitment & selection, hiring decisions will give due emphasis to assessing candidates’ eligibility, thorough background checks, police clearance, and professional reference check processes. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide leadership and direction for the Distribution team to execute all medical supply chain related activities in the Tigard Distribution center, including the day-to-day process and performance management of warehousing operations, inventory management, volunteer management, expediting and distribution of medical related gifts in kind items. • Overall responsibility for the management and supervision of direct reports and volunteers operating in the Distribution Center, ensuring all necessary permissions and paperwork is in place, they adhere to Medical Teams’ Code of Conduct and ensure risk assessments and protocols are in place to provide them with a safe working environment. • Develop and grow existing relationships with donor and pharmaceutical organizations to improve donated medical supply pipelines, including oversight of MSRO program and participation in quarterly steering committee • Provide leadership for the effective and efficient acquisition and distribution of high quality GIK through partnerships and agreements with existing and new certified partner organizations and Medical Teams field offices including monitoring, auditing, and end user reporting. • Ensure the timely invoicing and receipt of income, such as handling fees and resale of equipment to support warehouse operations. • Lead and ensure preparation for the annual audit of GIK inventory. • Develop and improve the quality management of all aspects of medical supplies management, including adoption of lean process, creating efficiencies and ensuring adherence to PQMD and other internationally recognized standards. • Collaborate with Director, Logistics and Procurement to develop budgets, annual plans and improve the financial sustainability and appropriateness of the operation relating to organizational needs. • Ensure timely reporting of accurate data on donations, projects, and inventory which feed into management and enterprise reports as required. • Collaborate with Global Programs (including US-based operations) to ensure that donated medical health and dental products align with country and strategic objectives and needs • Collaborate with Director, Logistics and Procurement and corporate/business development team to execute emerging GIK relationships and opportunities that align with organization priorities. • Demonstrate commitment to Medical Teams International Calling Statement and Core Values. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Support Director, Logistics and Procurement in delivering team, departmental and organizational tasks and contribute to organizational wide initiatives and task forces as required. • Ensure the Safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse & Harassment, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies. Incumbents will remain alert and responsive to any child and adult safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child and adult safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Safeguarding code of conduct and behavior expectations. • Utilizes volunteers when appropriate • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS EDUCATION • Bachelor’s degree in business or operations or combination of education and experience LICENSES • Valid driver’s license EXPERIENCE Required: • 6-8 years’ logistics and/or operations management experience, including 3+ years of leadership and volunteer management • Five (5) experience of working in the medical / health sector • 3+ years’ experience of managing warehouse operations Preferred: • Experience or knowledge of international or local distribution is preferred. • Knowledge of Medical Health Product donations and procurement • Change Management and process improvement experience KNOLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES KNOWLEDGE: • In-depth knowledge of health systems and associated supply chains within the United States. • In-depth knowledge of medical health products and application in public health contexts. • Knowledge of supply chain operations including warehousing and inventory management. • Knowledge of not-for-profit partners and donors with medical donation sector • Knowledge of public health protocols and best practice related to volunteer management.
