Position Specific Summary Through the Mecklenburg County Department of Community Resources, MeckWorks (formerly Unified Workforce Development) provides Mecklenburg County customers who need additional assistance with employment due to experiencing two or more barriers, access to upward mobility and economic stability through employment placement and integrated services. MeckWorks is looking for an administrative assistant to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Duties will include providing support to the Senior Program Manager, Social Work Supervisor, and Social Workers. The administrative assistant will assist in daily office needs and manage the administrative activities of the program. This is a part-time, temporary position. The selected candidate will support the Department up to 20 hours a week and should be comfortable with scheduling flexibility as workingshifts may vary. Location: 3205 Freedom Drive Charlotte, NC 28216 Position Summary Perform progressively responsible administrative, clerical, and technical work. This position, under minimal supervision, is responsible for advanced administrative functions of variety and specialization in a department. The Community Resource Center (CRC) is a pilot service, implemented to integrate Health and Human Services (HHS) in one location. All HHS agencies (Dept. of Social Services, Veteran Services, Child Support, Public Health) and community partners (NCWorks, CPCC, Novant Health, etc.) work collaboratively by connecting customers to services that promote health and wellness and strengthen the communities providing resources such as education, workforce development, mental and emotional health that drive families to towards greater independence. Essential Functions • Assist MeckWorks staff with agenda development for various weekly and monthly meetings • Coordinate interviews and assist with program preparation • Operate office equipment: fax machines, copiers, or phone systems and arrange for repairs when equipment malfunctions • Answer telephone or greet visitors and handle or direct inquiries to the appropriate persons according to the need/issue presented • Maintain supply levels and ordering stock • Schedule meetings and manage the calendar of the Senior Manager • Compose, type, and distribute information such as meeting notes, reports, agendas, forms, emails, and general information • Manage TEAMS files to ensure all program documents, meeting notes, standard operating procedures, etc. are in a centralized location • Assist with collecting and organizing data to generate reports for various projects and contracts within MeckWorks • Assist with creating PowerPoint presentations for the MeckWorks program • Upload documents into the Salesforce Database and NCCare360 Platform • Connect with individuals that are referred to the program to complete initial screening and consent forms • Assist with collecting information to complete Customer Satisfaction Surveys • Assist participants with resume development, job applications, and interview preparation • Other duties as assigned Mecklenburg County Community of Resources: Respond in cases of urgent and/or emergent events that require public health interventions. Employees may be trained for and assigned duties unrelated to their regular work; work outside normal business hours and workdays and/or in a different work location may be required. Emergency events include, but are not limited to, communicable disease outbreaks, severe weather situations (e.g. snow or ice storms, tornados, hurricanes), natural disasters (e.g. earthquakes), fire, or power outages, and acts of terrorism.
