Job Title: Operations Supervisor Reports To: Operations Manager Status: Full-Time, Hourly Summary The Operations Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring safety, operational efficiency, and exceptional customer service. This position oversees the service department, coordinates daily operations, manages fleet maintenance, and supports the Operations Manager in the management and maintenance of the propane distribution plant and company assets. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Schedule and supervise service calls; oversee the dispatch of service technicians. • Respond to and assist with incoming customer calls, particularly service-related inquiries. • Manage fleet maintenance, including DOT compliance, vehicle repairs, and recordkeeping to ensure readiness for BIT inspections. • Maintain and organize the company yard, building facilities, and propane tank inventory. • Order and maintain parts and stock inventory, ensuring accuracy in pricing, invoice approvals, and stockroom organization. • Review completed service work orders, prepare pricing, and ensure accuracy for invoice posting. • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations. • Lead monthly safety and training meetings. • Dispense SS-1 tack oil and propane when required. • Assist the Operations Manager with daily dispatching duties for both delivery drivers and service technicians. • Participate in shared on-call responsibilities. Qualifications • Previous experience in propane gas, fuel oil, HVAC, or energy industry preferred. • 1–2 years of management or supervisory experience required. • Scheduling or dispatching experience preferred. • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills. • Valid Class C driver’s license required; Class B with hazardous materials endorsement preferred. • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Education and Experience • High school diploma (or equivalent) required. • Relevant industry experience necessary to effectively assist in managing a propane distribution plant.
