Title: Sr. Director, Compliance & Ethics – PRISM and Multi-Specialty MSOs Location: Atlanta, GA; Columbus, OH or Columbus, OH (Preferred) Remote/Hybrid/Onsite: REMOTE The Sr. Director, Compliance & Ethics – PRISM and Multi-Specialty MSOs is responsible for enhancing compliance and privacy programs within McKesson’s Oncology & Multispecialty (“O&M”) businesses, including PRISM Vision Group and other management services organization operations (the “Business”). This role reports directly to the Vice President, Compliance & Ethics, Provider Solutions. This role partners with senior leadership to embed compliance strategies into business planning, ensuring regulatory integrity and supporting McKesson’s mission to improve care and patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable of, and have extensive experience in, all elements of corporate compliance and privacy related to healthcare delivery. The individual will have broad familiarity with the laws and regulations governing the activities of health care providers, as well as a strong executive presence and the demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with large teams consisting of business, legal, compliance, internal audit, human resources, and operational colleagues in a highly matrixed environment. Key Responsibilities Program Leadership • Assist the Vice President in developing the strategic direction and delivery of compliance program support for the Business. • Lead and collaborate in designing, implementing, and developing effective compliance and privacy programs for the Business. • In partnership with the Law Department, serve as subject matter expert and resource for compliance and privacy, including Corporate Practice of Medicine, HIPAA, Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and Medicare/Medicaid billing, coding, and documentation requirements. Leadership & Development • Lead and develop Compliance personnel, fostering engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement. • Foster digital literacy across teams and champion adoption of technology and AI tools to simplify processes, enhance collaboration, and accelerate transformation initiatives. • Act as compliance advisor and thought leader to the Business, influencing strategy and operations by embedding regulatory and ethical considerations into key initiatives. Governance & Reporting • Provide routine reporting to senior management and governance on compliance program activities. • Coordinate compliance activities with other McKesson departments to ensure complementary programs. Risk & Audit Management • Lead and support compliance and privacy risk assessments, developing risk-based workplans. • Assess proposed and current business initiatives, working with the Law Department to design, implement, and monitor internal controls to manage risk. • Assist with internal audits and oversee investigations and required reporting of perceived non-compliance, including monitoring reporting systems and recommending necessary controls. • Develop and implement corrective action plans in response to findings from audits, investigations, and monitoring activities. • Assist with regulatory audits and investigations by federal and state agencies, contractors, and other third-party payors. Training & Communication • Develop and deliver policies, procedures, and training programs to promote compliance awareness. • Direct communication strategies to ensure understanding of laws, regulations, and consequences of non-compliance. Stakeholder Engagement • Manage external communications with physician practices, partners, and customers on compliance and privacy matters. • Collaborate with the Law Department, Internal Audit, HR, IT, and operational teams as necessary to enable business and execute Compliance Program objectives. Minimum Requirements • 13+ years of professional experience. • 6+ years of diversified leadership experience in planning, communication, organization, and people management (or equivalent). • Ability to travel domestically up to 20%. Critical Skills • Analyze problems from multiple perspectives, understanding legal, privacy, risk, and operational impacts; resolve issues and recommend solutions. • Rapidly expand subject matter expertise and conduct complex initiatives independently. • Leverage digital and AI tools (e.g., CoPilot, ChatGPT, etc.) to automate and simplify operations and processes. • Communicate effectively with personnel at all levels and senior management. • Develop and inspire staff, prioritize multiple initiatives, and adapt to changing environments. • Promote the reputation and integrity of the General Counsel Organization. • Exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and ensure accuracy in work product. • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills. Additional Knowledge & Skills • Strong knowledge of federal and state laws related to healthcare, practice management, healthcare billing and coding, ambulatory surgery centers and clinical research. • Experience in hospital or physician office compliance/legal roles or healthcare law firm. • High degree of professionalism in engaging clinicians and provider support. • Proven ability to manage change, lead projects, and drive performance improvement. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify business challenges and strategize solutions. • Experience influencing in a cross-functional matrixed environment. Education • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required. • Master’s degree in healthcare/related field or Juris Doctor degree preferred. • Certification in healthcare compliance and privacy (CHC preferred; CHCR or CHPC acceptable) is required.
