Manage hotel contracting and negotiations to support client events, ensuring favorable terms and maintaining relationships.
Requires 3+ years in hotel contract negotiations, hospitality experience, and strong negotiation and communication skills.
JOB OBJECTIVE Manage and administer hotel contracting across MCI USA customers, primarily within US venues. Achieve client and MCI USA objectives through advantageous contract language and terms that protect clients and MCI USA. Work with clients to contract the appropriate number of hotels and proper room blocks to maximize the hotel booking service level and profit margins for each event. Responsibilities MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES • Facilitate the Hotel contracting for new or existing clients to support their events. • Manage the contract modifications process via contract addendums when necessary. • Negotiate with new or contracted hotels to achieve maximum client contract benefits encompassing room-night inventory requirements, favored price points, and amenities. • Compile and track hotel usage reports that will be used for contracting purposes. • Act as an intermediary between the client and the hotel during the contracting process, assisting the client with counsel during contracting periods. • Follow process and contribute to ongoing process improvement. • Assist with hotel sourcing if required. • Participate in client site visits. • Maintain good hotel relationships with our hotel partners and the hotel community. • Work closely with MCI USA Sales team for hotel contracting requirements for individual clients and events. • Maintain internal and client contract files so they can be used in the future by you or your coworkers. • By leveraging the buying power of both MCI and the client, negotiate the best possible rates, rebates, and concessions for MCI and the client. • Maintain good relationships with Convention and Visitor Bureaus and work with them to achieve client goals. • All other duties as assigned Job Requirements • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience working in related field • Previous experience in the hospitality field strongly preferred (hotel sales/marketing) • 3 years experience in hotel contract negotiations • Detail-oriented, self-sufficient, with an inquiring mind and analytical capabilities • Must have good negotiation skills while working with vendors and clients • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills • Working knowledge of contractual conditions and contractual policy PROFESSIONAL AND LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES • Ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments, and deadlines • Ability to work independently and remotely where applicable • Ability to develop good working relationships with vendors and clients • Ability to exercise sound judgment when handling a variety of issues Skills SPECIFIC TECHNICAL SKILLS • Cvent and/or Passkey experience preferred • Proficient in Microsoft Office Other Requirements • Travel may be required on a limited basis (20%) Benefits Summary MCI USA is an established, family-friendly company offering outstanding benefits and significant growth opportunities. • PTO • 13 paid company holidays, including closure Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day • 401K • Medical, dental, vision and supplementary insurances • Employer-paid group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability • Employer-paid family building benefit (fertility, adoption and surrogacy) • Employer-paid mental health benefit • Pet discount program Please reach out even if you do not meet all the criteria but are willing to learn and commit to one of our great roles.
