These roles sit at the intersection of conflicts analysis, governance, and risk management, partnering directly with attorneys, finance, and new business intake teams to support compliance, mitigate risk, and protect client relationships. Compensation & Work Models We are hiring for two work models: 🔹 Remote / Non-Exempt Roles • Locations: CA, MD, VA, Washington D.C. • Work Arrangement: Fully Remote (must be located in one of the above areas) • Salary Range: $70,000 – $120,000 annually, depending on experience & location 🔹 Hybrid / Exempt Roles • Locations: Los Angeles & San Francisco • Work Arrangement: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote • Salary Range: $99,000 – $150,000 annually, depending on experience & location Key Responsibilities • Research and analyze potential business and legal conflicts during new matter intake, pitches, client engagements, and lateral attorney hires. • Run conflicts checks for incoming new hires and Associates, and advise attorneys on resolution strategies. • Draft, review, and track engagement letters, waiver letters, outside counsel guidelines (OCGs), and audit responses. • Set up, monitor, and maintain ethical walls across firm systems to ensure compliance and confidentiality. • Conduct advanced company/party research using databases such as Lexis, Westlaw, SEC filings, Mergent, and Dun & Bradstreet. • Collaborate closely with Governance, Finance, and IT teams to ensure workflow integrity and system data accuracy. • Mentor junior conflicts staff, assist with training new hires, and provide subject matter input on governance policies and procedures. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; JD, paralegal certificate, or advanced degree a plus. • 3–5+ years of experience in conflicts, governance, or risk management in a law firm environment (AmLaw experience preferred). • Expertise with Intapp Open, Elite/3E, or equivalent intake systems. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); iManage or other document management system familiarity a plus. • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage a high volume of requests. • Clear and professional written/verbal communication; strong client-service orientation.
