Generate and maintain financial reports, conduct audits, manage billing and accounts receivable/payable, and provide operational support across finance and compliance teams.
Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field, 3+ years finance/accounting experience in insurance, proficiency with financial software including Concur and MS Office.
Our client, a start-up in the insurance industry, is searching for a Senior Accountant & Operations Analyst to join their growing team. The focus will be on providing support in accounting and finance, but will also offer operational assistance as needed. Key functions include Financial Management: Generate/maintain financial reports and records, including but not limited to income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements budgets and expense reports. Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for financial audits. Conduct audits to ensure accuracy and compliance. Data Entry and Reporting: Assist in maintaining the GL by recording financial transactions, JE's, and adjustments. Execution of month-end close process, ad-hoc reporting, and variance analysis. Generate/distribute financial reports to stakeholders. Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable / Billing: Coordinate billing processes including invoices, payments, and receipts related to insurance premiums, commissions, and other financial transactions. Collaborate w/ underwriting and policy issuance teams to ensure accurate premium calculations and billing. Resolve billing discrepancies, reconcile accounts, and address inquiries regarding invoices. Operational Support: Provide support cross-functionally to finance, compliance and operations teams. Coordinate directly with licensing and compliance vendors and assist with broker and agent licensing processes and serve as the primary POC for inquiries. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of operational procedures. YOU might be the RIGHT person if YOU have: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience (3+ years) in finance, accounting, or a similar role, in the insurance industry. Familiarity with insurance industry practices, terminology and accounting as it relates to insurance premium/commission transactions is a plus. Strong proficiency in financial software, Concur and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
