Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paper Machine Operator to join our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setup, adjusting and operating paper production machinery, ensuring high-quality output, and adhering to safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in paper manufacturing, or converting operations to contribute to a dynamic team focused on precision and efficiency. Candidates should possess strong mechanical knowledge and familiarity with various equipment and technologies, including sheeters, slitter/rewinders, flatbed cutters, jogger aerators and more and adhere to all quality control procedures. Minimum 5 years experience in a paper converting or paper finishing environment is required. Please note: If you do not have this experience, your application will not be considered! Responsibilities • Operate paper machine equipment efficiently while monitoring production parameters to meet quality standards. • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on all machinery. • Utilize precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and ensure product specifications are met. • Read and interpret fabrication instructions to facilitate accurate manufacturing processes. • Adjust machine settings using programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Fanuc controls, or other automation systems to optimize performance. • Handle materials safely using forklifts and other materials handling equipment; assist with packaging and assembly line tasks as needed. • Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process to identify defects or deviations from specifications. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety protocols; perform troubleshooting and minor repairs on machinery. • Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving welding, tooling, or assembly line operations. Skills • Proficiency with Fanuc controls, PLC programming, CNC programming, CAM programming, CAD software (SolidWorks), and blueprint reading. • Experience operating manufacturing equipment as listed in job description. • Mechanical knowledge of factory machinery including tooling setup, materials handling, and precision measurement instruments like calipers and micrometers. • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, assembly line operations, packaging, and quality control standards. • Ability to interpret technical drawings using GD&T principles; experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software is preferred. • Strong understanding of factory safety procedures; experience working in a manufacturing facility is highly desirable. • Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances and production specifications. • Hands-on experience with hand tools, welding equipment, forklift operation (certification preferred), and other factory tools is advantageous.
