Description As the Material Supervisor, you will manage the daily warehousing, inventory, and distribution activities in the Greendale, IN Bulk Plant for the Supply Chain Department. Establish and maintain the inventory control process and maintain appropriate procedures and documentation for physical inventories. If an inventory inaccuracy arises somewhere within the plant, you actively investigate the root cause and work with operations to create solutions that both fix the issue and prevent it from happening again. Whenever possible, you identify areas for improvement and develop ways to increase our operations. In addition, they will be responsible to build a strong culture based on collaborative hands-on teamwork and continuous improvement in support of "OUR HOUSE" initiatives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Functions • Drive the overall performance of the warehouse expeditors including process and procedure adherence, team productivity, compliance & customer satisfaction • Manage day to day operations of the warehouse materials and inventory transactions by conducting physical inventories both daily and weekly cycle counts. • Perform research and analysis of root cause of inaccuracies and work with all support personnel to resolve process problems. • Works directly with operations, finance, manufacturing, sales, purchasing and quality assurance. • Process Work in Process orders and follow through to completion of order and shipment. • Works closely with Sales and Customer Service to remain current on customer expectations, order status and preparation of shipments. • Processes all documentation for inventory control and supports quality audit documentation. • Manages and report end of the month physical inventory WIP • Analyzes and creates corrective and improving activities for inventory adjustments. Tactical Functions • Perform and oversee daily counts and ensure all production inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy • Cycle count slow moving and obsolete inventory. Work with operations for opportunities to substitute, integrate for recycling • Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all production inventories • Weekly reconciliation of production inventory • Publish production inventory and metrics daily • Responsible for daily entry and changes in physical inventory information. • Develop and implement daily transactions reporting of receipts both production and raw materials against system inputs for accuracy. • Manage adherence to daily and weekly dock schedules to ensure all shipments go out on time, in full, and with no errors. • Ensure all shipment paperwork for customer and transfer shipments is record accurately • Process all customer returns' freight from customers as requested; ensure Quality, Customer Service are notified, and disposition is tracked. • Transact inventory adjustments once approved by Finance • Manage MRO receiving, as needed. • Monitor quality, quantity, and delivery time • Assist in completion of special projects or additional duties, as required. • Observe and enforce all safety precautions, rules, and regulations. Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures. Maintains work area in a clean and safe manner. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: • Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent experience preferred. • 1-3 plus years of experience in logistics, operations, or supply chain field. • Candidate must possess excellent verbal, formal written and grammatically correct correspondence and possess strong analytical skills. • Ability to interact with customers, team members, management, and outside vendors with professionalism, tact, and resourcefulness. • Ability to manage multiple priorities with limited supervision. . • Advanced computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and accurate data entry skills are required. • Demonstrated experience independently developing strategy and driving tangible results using data and achieving strategic objectives. Work will take place in an office and manufacturing environment. Employee may be required to work weekends, holidays and be on-call on occasion. The employee may encounter controlled air conditions with frequent air changes, environmental exposure.
