How You’ll Impact The Marrow General Manager is passionate about delivering extraordinary service, contributing to the overall strategy of the business, and maintaining the quality and customer service standards that align with the business. The Marrow GM leads operations at our group's newest restaurant in Eastern Market, Marrow in the Market. This position requires a strategic leader with a proven track record in high-end hospitality, new restaurant openings, team leadership, and operational excellence. The position’s overall goal will be to deliver revenue and profitability by executing on the business plan and vision of the company by overseeing daily restaurant operations, administration, guest experience, and staff. What You’ll Do • Lead day-to-day operations and maintain the highest standards of guest service, food quality, and overall dining experience. • Work closely with the Executive Chef and Hospitality Director to ensure menu execution, cost control, and innovation. • Manage P&L, budgets, labor, and inventory with a focus on profitability and efficiency. • Train, mentor, and develop front-of-house leadership and staff. • Uphold brand reputation and enforce standards of excellence in hospitality. • Responsible for meeting and/or exceeding restaurant financial objectives by adhering to strategic plans, forecasts, and budgets, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions, establishing and monitoring financial controls, and developing and implementing strategies to increase restaurant sales. • Oversees bar service operations and profitability by managing the beverage managers/curators and developing strategies to increase bar sales and achieve cost efficiencies through efficient purchasing and inventory. • Executes on-site human resource functions by overseeing the recruiting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining FOH/service staff; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; enforcing policies and procedures; maintaining positive employee retention rates. • Menu knowledge and the ability to test others and hold others accountable for their knowledge of the menu. • Familiarity with both opening and closing procedures, money handling, and filling in as opening or closing manager as needed. • Interact with guests and address issues as they arise. • Relay staff and guest feedback to the executive management team, with urgent matters being addressed in a timely manner. • Ensures the FOH meets food safety, health inspection and TIPS/ServSafe alcohol standards. • Work collaboratively with the Executive Chef and Hospitality Director on strategic planning and daily operations. • Develop a strong service team while creating a positive and driven work environment. • Oversee training programs and SOPs.
