Lead a team to grow the Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy business by setting strategy, managing performance, and onboarding partners.

This position is responsible for growing the Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy (HVMB) business across US/CAN markets. The role will be responsible for setting go-to-market strategy and leading a team of Business Development Managers through the process of prospecting, qualifying, selling, and vetting property management companies to partner with HVMB. To accomplish this, the role will be responsible for setting goals and managing team performance to achieve them. Success in the position requires working at a fast pace and the ability to help the team problem solve so that property management companies can be onboarded in order meet team unit goals and contribute to the wider team’s goals. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education & Experience Required • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management (or equivalent international degree) and 5+ years’ experience in the business development, sales, management operations, or related professional area demonstrating a pattern of exceptional performance • 2+ years’ experience as a team leader • Expert project management and organizational skills with a service mindset • Demonstrated ability to deliver results, effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment • Willingness to travel 25-30% of the time Education & Experience Preferred • Experience in the short-term rental or vacation rental industry • Professional demeanor, capable of expressing confident, independent judgment • Entrepreneurial mindset • Analytical thinker with strong interpersonal skills CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Business Development • Works with Senior Director, HVMB Business Development to set go-to-market strategy for international markets • Manages team performance, including sales pipeline development and deal closing • Coaches Business Development Managers, through the process of identifying, initiating, and analyzing potential partnerships and bring them through the pipeline funnel, including • Prospecting/qualification • Pitching • Due diligence • Contract negotiations • Production of materials in support of recommending the property management companies to the appropriate Marriott committees. • Successfully onboards units to the platform to meet team unit goals. • Ensures Quality metrics and goals are met (through unit/partnership quality and listing accuracy) • Ensures deals closed contribute to meeting Booking Rate and Revenue goals. Managing Work, Projects, and Policies • Identifies and leads projects to increase operational efficiency of the business development team • Helps team to analyze information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems. • Escalates issues to Senior Director, HVMB Business Development when appropriate. • Generates and provides insightful and high-quality reports, presentations to recommend strategic direction. Supporting Operations • Works cross-functionally to identify step change improvements to systems and processes, implementing these recommendations where appropriate. • Establishes and maintains complete and up-to-date information to ensure accurate reporting.
