Location: Remote Lakewood/Tacoma Company Type: Small–Mid Sized Private Security Reports To: CEO Department: Executive Leadership / Finance Position Summary: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as the senior financial executive responsible for strategic financial leadership, fiscal integrity, compliance, and operational oversight. The CFO will partner closely with the CEO, Financial Assistant, and executive team to strengthen financial performance, manage risk, and support sustainable growth within a contract driven, compliance heavy private security environment. Compensation: ranges exempt salary $80,168.40 - $100,000. Final compensation will depend on experience, credentials, and company size. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Financial Leadership Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with long‑term organizational goals. Provide financial insights to support executive decision‑making and company growth initiatives. Partner with the CEO on strategic planning, capital allocation, and portfolio decisions. Support payroll processing, year‑end tax preparation, financial reporting, budgeting, cash‑flow management, compliance oversight, and any other financial or accounting needs required by the company. Financial Operations & Compliance: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis. Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards, tax laws, and industry regulations. Manage accounting, treasury, payroll, tax, and audit processes. Risk Management: Monitor and mitigate financial, operational, regulatory, and contractual risks. Maintain accurate internal controls to protect company assets. Private Security Industry–Specific Responsibilities Oversee high‑volume labor‑based payroll cycles for security staff. Support contract pricing, bid proposals, and cost‑model development for new security accounts. Ensure compliance with licensing requirements, bonding, insurance, and regulatory protocols. Leadership & Organizational Management: Lead and develop the finance team, implementing best practices and scalable financial processes. Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, HR, and legal departments. Communicate financial performance to the CEO and board. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum 7 years of finance/accounting experience, including 5 years in leadership. Proven experience managing accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance in a complex environment. Expertise in GAAP, financial modeling, and risk management. Strong communication and executive‑level presentation skills. Additional Qualifications: Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Finance) Professional certifications: CPA, CMA, CFA. Experience in labor‑intensive, contract‑based industries (security, staffing, facilities services, logistics). Experience overseeing technology and financial‑systems implementation.
