Full Description

Lead Application Architect Salary: $175,000-$215,000, plus bonuses and full benefits 100% Remote from the continental US excluding the Pacific Time Zone and New York state About The Role: This role is for a senior IC architect who designs the framework, component model, and API surface that all complex applications on the MapLarge platform are built on. It’s a hands‑on, TypeScript‑heavy position focused on composition - creating reusable primitives, clean contracts, and data‑driven flows that let developers assemble sophisticated apps without reinventing the plumbing. You’ll think at both the UX and data‑model layers, architect framework‑agnostic foundations that interoperate with tools like React, and set patterns by building them, not by writing documents from afar. About MapLarge Since 2009, MapLarge’s rapidly growing software platform has enabled Fortune 1000 enterprises and government agencies to develop, scale, and deploy mission‑critical applications. Trusted by the world's most sophisticated organizations, our enterprise platform for geospatial analytics and visualization automates decision intelligence and offers a distinct decision advantage. We build cutting-edge products for large enterprises and government agencies that appreciate innovation. If you enjoy working with talented teammates to solve complex challenges, we'd love for you to join us. Responsibilities: • Design reusable, composable UI components with clear contracts and boundaries • Stay hands‑on in TypeScript, building patterns, reviewing code, and pairing with developers • Architect data‑driven, declarative UI flows that keep complex, live‑updating apps predictable • Design and maintain the framework/SDK API surface used by application developers • Build framework‑agnostic UI foundations that interoperate cleanly with major frameworks like React • Create abstractions that scale across many applications and use cases • Ensure performance and responsiveness with large, dynamic datasets • Mentor developers and raise the overall front‑end architecture capability of the team Requirements: • Must reside in the continental United States • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) • Authorized to work in the U.S. with no visa sponsorship required • 8+ years of front‑end development experience with strong TypeScript skills • Experience designing reusable, composable UI components • Strong API design skills for both client‑side frameworks and backend data flows • Experience building framework‑agnostic UI architecture that can interoperate with tools like React • Ability to think across both UX flows and underlying data models Nice to have • Experience with data visualization or geospatial UI (D3, Canvas/WebGL, mapping, large‑scale interactive visuals) • Familiarity with reactive or declarative patterns such as RxJS, signals, or observable‑based bindings • Experience with web‑component architecture or design systems using CSS custom properties • Background building SDKs or platform APIs used by external developers • Experience with real‑time or streaming data in the UI • Familiarity with .NET/C# to understand full end‑to‑end API flows • US person status or clearance eligibility (helpful for certain customers, not required) Cultural Fit While we hire all kinds of people and invent roles to fit them, there are four key traits we require of every team member that really define our team. • Fun to Work With - Life is short and work should be fun. • Smart - We work on cutting-edge hard problems. We need people who are quick learners, can anticipate needs, and solve problems independently while working with an intelligent peer group. • Passionate & Proactive - We need people who really love their work and exhibit the energy and creativity that comes from being fully engaged in what you do. • Adaptable - We hire team members for specific roles, but we expect adaptability as the business needs change and evolve. Benefits • Competitive salary and 401K • Top-notch health care • Family friendly • 100% remote flexibility • Cutting-edge tech with an A+ team solving complex, meaningful problems • Collaborative, intelligent, positive, and supportive team culture MapLarge is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. MapLarge is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, disability, age, or other legally protected status.
