Senior Infrastructure Engineer (DevOps / Platform) Location Remote - United States (Occasional travel for team offsites 2-3 times per year) Compensation $100K - $200K base + competitive equity About the Role A fast-growing venture-backed startup is hiring its first dedicated Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer to help scale a rapidly expanding platform. This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, security, and compliance, and will own the foundation that enables the engineering team to ship quickly and safely. You will design and evolve the company's infrastructure strategy, build secure-by-default systems, and ensure the platform can scale reliably as adoption grows. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in early-stage environments, enjoys ownership, and wants to shape infrastructure architecture from the ground up. What You'll Do • Own infrastructure and security decisions across AWS and Kubernetes • Harden cloud environments including networking, IAM, WAFs, and DNS • Maintain and improve SOC 2 compliance workflows using tools such as Drata • Design infrastructure strategy for 1-3 year scaling horizons • Build automation, templates, and CI/CD guardrails to enable secure developer workflows • Improve observability, reliability, and performance across infrastructure systems Requirements • 5-8 years of software engineering experience • 3+ years in a dedicated DevOps / Infrastructure role • Deep experience with AWS and Kubernetes • Experience managing cloud networking, IAM policies, and infrastructure security • Strong background in Terraform or infrastructure-as-code • Experience operating production environments with compliance requirements (SOC 2 preferred) • Strong system design and operational thinking Tech Stack • AWS • Kubernetes • Terraform / OpenTofu • Java • MySQL • EC2 • IAM • AWS Inspector • Drata Ideal Candidate • Startup-minded engineer who enjoys high ownership and autonomy • Comfortable working as the first infrastructure hire • Strong problem solver with a focus on security, reliability, and scalability • Able to collaborate closely with product and engineering teams About the Company A venture-backed startup building a modern data platform for the real estate industry, enabling automation, analytics, and AI-powered workflows for real estate operators.
