This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and hands-on leader to build and manage a high-performing engineering team, oversee complex engineering projects, and drive the successful design, commissioning, and operation of Mantel’s early projects. As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for hiring, training, and mentoring engineers, setting project budgets and timelines, and leading teams in testing, troubleshooting, and developing new systems. You will also collaborate with EPC firms, internal project development, partner site engineers, and OEMs to ensure successful project execution, system integration, and long-term optimization. Mantel is looking for a problem solver who can think outside the box and work well both independently and within a team environment. Major Responsibilities: · Hire, train, and mentor qualified engineering staff to build a high-performing team. · Initiate and lead engineering projects to develop new carbon capture systems and processes. · Set project budgets and timelines to ensure efficient execution and resource allocation. · Support engineers in running tests and troubleshooting prototype issues, providing hands-on technical expertise. · Assemble, train, and delegate tasks to engineering teams, ensuring productivity and accountability. · Track project progress and create reports for leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment. · Communicate project needs and key metrics to executives, cross-functional teams, and external partners. · Collaborate with EPCs, contractors, and OEMs to develop scopes of work, technical documentation, and operational procedures. · Optimize engineering processes and system performance for future scalability. · Provide critical decision making by pooling appropriate stakeholders and/or initiating first steps as warranted to avoid impasses Minimum Qualifications: · 10+ years of experience in engineering roles, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership position. · Experience in hiring, training, and managing engineering teams in a high-tech or industrial environment. · Experience in collaborating with EPCs, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. · Experience with construction, commissioning, and startup of industrial process equipment.
