Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 5-7+ years managing mission-critical data center or infrastructure operations, technical expertise in electrical/mechanical systems, ITIL processes, vendor management, and business continuity.

Scope and Purpose: As our Infrastructure & Data Center Operations Manager, you’ll own the reliability and performance of our critical facilities and systems. You’ll oversee day-to-day data center operations, including power/UPS, HVAC, generators, and vendor management, while driving disciplined change, incident response, and operational excellence. You’ll manage the asset lifecycle, ensure audit readiness, and lead business continuity and recovery exercises to keep the organization resilient. Duties and Responsibilities: • Data Center & Facilities Oversight • Monitor and manage electrical and mechanical systems (UPS, PDUs, HVAC/CRAC, generators). • Oversee preventive maintenance, load testing, and lifecycle planning. • Track facility KPIs and proactively manage risks. • Maintenance & Vendor Management • Plan and execute maintenance windows. • Manage OEM/service vendors, enforce SLAs, review logs, and drive corrective actions. • Network & Telecom Coordination • Partner with networking/telecom teams on circuits, cross-connects, and routing changes. • Schedule and validate changes to ensure service health. • Incident & Change Management • Act as Incident Commander for P1/P2 events: lead bridges, communications, and post-mortems. • Chair CAB meetings, maintain change records, and ensure rollback readiness. • Asset Lifecycle & Documentation • Maintain CMDB/DCIM accuracy and oversee racking/stacking, decommissions, and spares. • Govern warranties, renewals, SOPs, diagrams, and inventories. • Operations & On-Call • Develop and maintain operational runbooks. • Coordinate on-call rotations and cross-team escalations with clear coverage. • Compliance & Audit Support • Provide evidence for audits (SOX/PCI/HIPAA as applicable). • Manage access reviews, privileged account attestations, and physical facility controls. • Business Continuity & Recovery • Maintain and test BCP/DR playbooks. • Define and track RTO/RPO targets; lead site recovery exercises. • Capacity & Performance Management • Monitor and forecast power, cooling, space, and rack density. • Recommend optimization and consolidation opportunities. • Continuous Improvement • Identify automation and process enhancements. • Define metrics (MTBF/MTTR) and drive measurable reliability gains. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in IT, engineering, or related field and 5+ years in data center/infrastructure operations; or • Associate degree/technical program and 7+ years of relevant experience; or • Equivalent hands-on experience (7+ years) managing mission-critical facilities. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Technical Expertise • Data center systems: UPS, generators, ATS/STS, PDUs, CRAC/CRAH, fire suppression, monitoring. • Tooling: DCIM/CMDB, ITSM (e.g., ServiceNow), monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG), BMS dashboards, documentation tools (Visio/draw.io). • Processes: ITIL-based incident/change/problem management, vendor/SLA management, RCA. • Networking/telecom: Carriers, circuits, cross-connects, structured cabling, MDF/IDF standards. • Compliance & security: Access controls, visitor logs, cameras/badge systems, audit evidence. • BCP/DR: Recovery planning, dependency mapping, tabletop/live failover exercises. • Soft Skills • Calm under pressure, clear communicator and strong stakeholder management. • Able to produce concise, actionable documentation. • Availability • Willingness to support evening/weekend maintenance windows and participate in on-call rotation. • Preferred Experience • Certifications: ITIL v3/v4, CDCP/CDCS/CDCE, PMP/Prince2, BICSI, OSHA. • Experience with multi-site or colocation environments. • Contract/SOW management experience. • Knowledge of power/cooling optimization (PUE/WUE), sustainability initiatives. • Familiarity with frameworks such as NERC/CIP, SOC 2, ISO 27001. Travel Requirements: This position may require light travel within a ten-mile radius from one office location to another as needed.
