About the Role Maleda Tech is seeking experienced Software Engineers to support a mission-driven nonprofit technology initiative focused on delivering safe housing and crisis response solutions at a global scale. In this role, you will build and enhance scalable web applications that power emergency response programs. You will collaborate closely with product, operations, research, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver flexible, reliable solutions that directly support people in times of need. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional partners across engineering, product, research, and operations throughout the full product lifecycle Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and backend systems Work across distributed systems and contribute to service-oriented architectures Analyze data insights and research findings to identify product and system improvements Navigate and build context within large, evolving codebases Develop solutions to ambiguous and complex technical challenges Contribute to technical discussions, architecture decisions, and system improvements Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) 4+ years of professional experience building and delivering web applications Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, TypeScript) Experience working with distributed systems and service-oriented architectures Ability to solve complex problems in ambiguous environments Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines Nice to Have: Experience with GraphQL and modern web technologies Experience working in Agile software development environments Prior experience in fast-paced, high-growth organizations Experience collaborating with design, data science, research, and product teams Key Details Start Date: March 17, 2026 End Date: December 31, 2026 Duration: Approx. 9.5 months Schedule: 40 hours per week (8 hours per day, Monday-Friday) Location: Remote (U.S.-based) Pay Rate: $60-$71/hour (W2) Number of Openings: 2
