PLEASE APPLY ON OUR WEBSITE - questnorthwest.com/about/employment/ Majestic Adventures LLC is a Bellingham-based organization with 10 years of experience running Live Action Role Play day camps, where the kids become the heroes of a dynamic and exciting adventure. We're seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Assistant Camp Director to support our day camp operations at Cornwall Park in Bellingham. The camp season runs from June 15th - August 28th, with the week of June 8th-12th set aside for Quest Leader (Camp Counselor) Training. Position Overview The Assistant Camp Director will support the program operations of Summer Day Camps by providing on-site oversight and support to staff and clients, coordinating with administrative staff to keep safety and policy consistent, and ensuring a positive and engaging environment for staff and clients to thrive. Key Responsibilities • Supervise and coordinate daily camp activities at Cornwall Park • Manage, mentor, and support camp staff, including scheduling, task delegation and equipment supply • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and emergency procedures • This includes execution of First Aid and de-escalation practices • Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, and management • Maintain clear communication with Administration staff about participant and field staff health, development and discipline challenges. • Oversee check-in/check-out procedures and maintain accurate attendance records • Monitor and evaluate program quality and staff performance • Respond to and resolve participant, parent, and staff concerns • Coordinate with Equipment Manager for necessary supplies and materials • Maintain site cleanliness and organization • Lead staff meetings and contribute to program development • Deliver program materials to site each day using company-provided storage vehicle • Demonstrate and uphold company values of Autonomy, Community, Equity and Safety Pay Rate $23-25/hr • Previous experience working with children in a camp or educational setting • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience • Strong organizational and communication skills • Ability to make quick decisions and solve problems effectively • Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (or willing to obtain before start date) • Wilderness First Aid Training (or willing to obtain before start date) • Mandatory Reporter Training (or willing to obtain before start date) • Ability to Hike up to 10 miles, carrying a heavy pack (~20-35lbs) • Lift and Carry up to 50lbs Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Education, Recreation, or equivalent experience • A passion for the fantasy genre • Previous camp leadership experience • Knowledge of youth development principles • Background in outdoor education or recreational programming • Street Medic Training (or willing to obtain before start date) • Familiarity with the Principles of Non-Violent Communication • De-Escalation Training • Driver’s License (or willing to obtain before start date) Workload and Schedule This is a full-time (~40 hours per week) seasonal position that will run from June 8th - August 28th. Some in-person training will take place over several days in early April, between April 6th and April 17th. The Assistant Camp Director is expected to arrive at camp location [Cornwall Park for Bellingham, Woodland Park for Seattle] at 8:15am each day and remain until programs are fully wrapped up at 3:30/3:45, totaling roughly 8 hours per day.
