Description Flourishing families ~ Connected Communities Position Summary and Application Process Executive Director ~ Families Unlimited Network University Place, WA Full-Time | Exempt Salary: $75,000-$100,000, benefits, 2 weeks vacation Anticipated Start Date: Between June 1, 2026 - July 1, 2026 Application Deadline: April 6, 2026 Position Overview Families Unlimited Network (FUN) is seeking a visionary and relational Executive Director who models a mature Christian faith to lead our next season of growth and community impact with humility and compassion. Families Unlimited Network, a Christ-centered nonprofit ministry, serves families in our community by providing access to food and essential resources that support long-term well-being and self-sustainability. The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of FUN and works in partnership with the Board of Directors to advance the organization's mission, strengthen operations, cultivate donors and partners, and shape future facility development and growth. This leader will steward financial resources, build staff capacity, expand community partnerships, and champion a shared vision for flourishing families and connected communities. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven nonprofit leader with strong fundraising and capital expansion experience, strategic vision, and a heart for serving others with dignity. Title: Executive Director - Families Unlimited Network Reports to: Families Unlimited Network Board of Directors Full-Time, Exempt Position Purpose The Executive Director (ED) is the chief executive officer responsible for advancing the organization's mission by developing a shared vision within the community, strengthening the organization, and shepherding resources. The ED focuses on fund development, community engagement, strategic leadership, facility development, building staff capacity, board development, and financial oversight, ensuring the organization thrives both now and in the future. Fund Development • Lead comprehensive fundraising strategy to support programs and capital initiatives. • Develop and maintain relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors. • Secure grants and oversee proposal approvals. • Lead capital campaign efforts for improving and developing the facility. • Engage sponsors and partners for events and community collaborations. Community Engagement • Serve as the public face of the organization and represent FUN in the community. • Build strategic partnerships with community leaders, agencies, faith partners, and organizations. • Regularly assess the needs of the community and of partner organizations. • Increase the visibility and accessibility of the resources provided by FUN and its partners. Strategic Leadership • Lead strategic planning in partnership with the Board of Directors. • Develop multi-year growth plans aligning programs with community needs. • Monitor and evaluate FUN's strengths and areas of service overlap with other local organizations. Facility Development • Identify and secure property for the future needs of the organization. • Work with architects, contractors, and legal counsel on facility design and contracts. • Lead vision-sharing with community stakeholders to build support for capital projects. • Oversee financing and capital campaign consultants. • Identify and oversee capital improvements to facilities that exceed $10,000 in total cost. Building Staff Capacity • Oversee creation and maintenance of up-to-date job descriptions for program manager positions. • Lead hiring, training, supervision, performance evaluations, and goal setting for Operations Manager. • Establish organizational hiring practices for staff and volunteers and retain final approval in hiring. • Establish and maintain a printed Leadership Tree and a Compensation Ladder for the organization. • Oversee staff development and volunteer training processes. Board Relations • Serve as primary liaison between Board and staff. • Provide strategic updates and engage Board in advocacy, program development, and fundraising. • Lead Board development sessions to enhance board functionality. • Advise the Board regarding significant changes to fiscal situations or environments. Financial Oversight • Lead the annual budgeting process. • Ensure that the financial records are accurate, detailed, and in accordance with FUN's Financial Policy. • Present financial reports to the Board, monthly and with an annual recap. • Produce the 990-tax document required of all non-profit organizations and present to Board. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree preferred (nonprofit management, business, social work, or related field). • Minimum 7-10 years in nonprofit or related leadership roles. • Proven track record in fundraising, major donor development, and capital campaigns. • Strong fiscal management skills, including successful management of $1.5-$2.0 million budgets. • Proven experience in staff supervision, training, and performance management • Experience with strategic planning and large-scale facility projects. • Excellent public speaking, relationship-building, and leadership skills. • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and serving others with dignity. • Models a mature Christian faith consistent with the organization's mission and core values.
