The project: Mace is seeking a full time Project Controls Lead for Life Science and Industrial Manufacturing projects to work directly with our Clients on capital projects. Manages and/or leads the implementation and delivery of a range of PMO and Project Controls to support commissions. Leads and guides team members within the PMO and Planning Centre of Excellence and assigned Hub as required. Client focus - Deliver on our promise: • You will create and design effective implementation s of PMO and Project Controls framework s and strategies on assigned commissions. • You will support best in class service delivery and effective engagement with wider industry and professional bodies to promote Mace • You will be developing your expertise in PMO and Project Controls, with a growing internal and external network (e.g. clients, contractors, consultancies and other stakeholders). • Serving as a client-facing Project Controls Lead who assists with tactical and technical advice. • Undertakes responsibilities independently with the expectation that you can oversee the work of all staff. • Being a key interface with client, stakeholders, and other consultants at all project stages. • Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports. Applying the value management techniques at the outset of a project. • Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost and schedule management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients. • Undertake the valuation of contractor’s monthly applications including measured works, preliminaries, materials on site, etc. • Assessment and evaluation of variations including the ability to negotiate and agree with contractor, including the preparation of full substantiating documentation. • Ensuring that post-contract cost variances, change control, cost checking and valuation processes are managed effectively. • Performance reporting including KPI, Risk and Resource analysis. • Review Monthly updates of spend and schedule data to a achieve KPIs. • Responsible for coordination and development of project controls related processes and procedures. • Work alongside the account lead to determine project controls resources required to support delivery. • Responsible for the management of direct Mace reports. You’ll need to have: • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related field (MS, MBA preferred) • Professional membership, i.e., MRICS/RICS (or equivalent) and moving towards fellowship, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development. • Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, along with the ability to assure service delivery and provide meaningful / actionable insights. • Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contractual frameworks relating to construction. • Experience managing relationships with key senior stakeholders • Experience working on large complex programs. • Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience working in project controls in the construction industry. • Experience in the Pharma sector or other similar manufacturing. • Experience in EPMO system like Unifier or Procore. You’ll also have: • Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development. • Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise. • Strong commercial and financial acumen. • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams. • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders. • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on. Note: The estimated salary for this position is $125,000. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
