Role Overview: As an Accounts Receivable Specialist focused on Service & Preventative Maintenance Collections, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the company’s receivables. Your efforts will ensure timely collections, maintain strong client relationships, and support the financial health of MacDonald-Miller. What You'll Do: - You will manage accounts receivable processes specifically for service and preventative maintenance contracts. - You will monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely payments. - You will communicate professionally with clients to resolve billing discrepancies and answer payment inquiries. - You will collaborate with the sales and service teams to verify contract terms and billing accuracy. - You will maintain accurate records of collections activities and update the accounting system accordingly. - You will assist in preparing reports on receivables status and aging for management review. - You will identify and recommend process improvements to enhance collections efficiency. - You will support month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts receivable. What You Bring: - You have at least 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or collections, preferably in the service or facilities management industry. - You possess strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounts receivable processes. - You are proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel. - You have excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage client interactions effectively. - You demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - You are capable of working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle. - Familiarity with mechanical contracting or facilities services industry. - Additional certifications in accounting or finance (e.g., CPA, CMA). - Proven track record of improving collections processes or reducing outstanding receivables.
