Location: Open Locations / Multiple US Regions Work location will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, and regional business needs. Company: Maccaferri Inc. Reports To: Maccaferri North America Technical and Business Development Director Company Overview Maccaferri Inc. is a global leader in engineered environmental solutions, specializing in Geometallic and geosynthetic materials for civil engineering and construction applications. With a reputation for innovation, quality, and industry leadership, we are focused on delivering high-performance solutions that solve complex geotechnical challenges. Position Overview The Business Development Manager will be the promotional lead responsible for promoting and supporting a dedicated portfolio of Geometallic and geosynthetic solutions. This role focuses on technical promotion and leadership, project support, technical committees and activities for targeted product applications — primarily strategic products produced in NAM. This individual will play a key role in managing industry approvals, design support, and technical promotion efforts, working closely with internal sales teams and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities • Lead promotion and specification (1st Sale) activities in collaboration with commercial sales and technical team members • Develop and maintain relationships with key design/specifying engineers, agencies, and customers to promote and develop projects • Maintain CRM with 1st Sale Projects and track through to 2nd Sale transition to commercial sales group • Participate in various local professional associations to develop Maccaferri brand recognition in region • Coordinate and deliver technical designs (preliminary and final) in collaboration with external partners. • Promote software tools relevant to product design, ensuring client adoption and effective use • Provide estimating assistance for high-level projects/value-engineering opportunities including budgetary quotes • Support and maintain State & Provincial DOT approvals, while also driving new evaluations and inclusion • Track market trends and project opportunities, relaying intelligence to product and commercial leadership • Present technical content at trade shows, lunch-and-learns, and professional seminars Team Involvement • Work with regional technical & commercial sales to develop projects and specs: • Supporting engineers in key applications and solutions • Supporting industry approval processes (ASTM, state-level) • Delivering preliminary and final technical designs • Promoting design software for client use • Assisting in project estimating and value-engineering • Leading efforts to gain and maintain product approvals within DOT and other regulatory agencies Education & Experience • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related technical discipline, licensed PE preferred • Minimum 3 years of experience in geosynthetics or civil infrastructure technical sales, design, or support • Experience working with DOTs and public agency approval processes preferred • Knowledge of geosynthetic products and applications or similar construction products • Familiarity with both distribution and direct sales models in the civil/environmental/geotechnical industry Skills & Attributes • Strong technical understanding of geosynthetics, geotechnical and civil engineering applications • Effective collaboration with internal sales, engineering, and marketing teams • Organized and analytical approach to business development and product promotion • Proven leadership and team management skills • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities • Strong planning, organizational, and project management capabilities • Ability to work independently while effectively working with other team members • Willingness to travel regionally as required.
