Full Description

Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack Systems Type: Full-time Location: Pittsburgh PA [On-site / Hybrid / Remote] About Mac Safety Mac Safety builds products at the intersection of industry, web applications, IoT, and operations technology-software that supports critical workflows in the field and on the web. Engineers contribute directly to production platforms and customer-facing systems, build features that empower users, integrate across hardware and cloud environments. Role summary Mac Safety is hiring a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to lead delivery across our products and platform surfaces: web applications, integration services, AI/analysis workflows, and the multi-application cloud model that keeps everything running in production. You will drive technical direction, raise the bar on reliability and release practices, and polish substantial feature sets. Responsibilities • Architect and deliver major full-stack initiatives: APIs, UIs, data models, and cross-service contracts • Define and improve deployment and publishing standards across many applications and environments (build, promote, rollback, config discipline) • Own production reliability for live systems: incident response, and custom client requested features • Lead design of integration and orchestration layers (digital twin, webhooks, workflow states) for connected devices and vendor APIs • Guide AI/analysis pipelines (ingestion → processing → findings → reports) with clear lifecycle, retries, and failure modes • Work with teams on hard full-stack and ops problems • Partner with product/operations on roadmap, estimates, and phased rollouts Qualifications Required • 5+ years building and operating production full-stack systems • Track record owning large features or subsystems from design through years of production life • Deep skills in natural and agentic coding • Strong system design: APIs, auth, multi-tenant patterns, async processing, format conversions • Demonstrated leadership in multi-environment deployment, release management, and operational excellence • Experience debugging complex production issues across frontend, backend, workers, and third-party integrations • Excellent written communication • Built or scaled platforms with many deployed apps/services and consistent publishing workflows • Camera/IoT/safety/telecom or media-adjacent domains (webhooks, clips, streaming coordination-not necessarily raw video engineering) • Event-driven architecture, async workers, reliable, and resilient functions • AI/ML product systems at scale (skills, pipelines, quality gates) Why Mac Safety Ownership on real products (AI, web, IoT, ops tech). Small team; your work affects field safety and real operational outcomes. Growth toward lead, platform, or connected-systems focus based on interest. Apply Resume + link(s) to code, projects, or shipped products. Question: describe one system you built/implemented or a challenge you overcame with software.
