Overview Lynker Corporation, in strategic partnership with Fisheries Immersed Science Hawaii (FISH) as the FLOAT – the "FISH" and "Lynker" Ocean Alliance Team Joint Venture, is seeking a highly motivated ESA Section 7 Specialist to support the NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) California Central Valley Office (CCVO). The successful candidate will support implementation of the Endangered Species Act (ESA), focusing on Section 7 consultations to protect and recover listed anadromous fish species and their habitats. Work Location: Primarily remote. Field work and site visits (3x/year) may occur within Northern California or across the West Coast. Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities:Evaluate Section 7 consultation requests and environmental documents under NEPA, CEQA, MSA, FWCA, and the Federal Power Act. Analyze effects of proposed actions on listed species and habitats; draft biological opinions and concurrence letters. Engage with agencies, tribes, and stakeholders to identify mitigation and conservation opportunities. Support Section 10 permitting and ESA recovery planning efforts. Maintain administrative records and input consultation data into ECO. Contribute to technical meetings, field visits, and cross-divisional teams. Prepare environmental documents and participate in habitat restoration planning. Qualifications Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in biological science, fisheries, conservation biology, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience (graduate degree may substitute for experience). In-depth knowledge of ESA, NEPA, and West Coast anadromous species.
