Day (United States of America) Location Outpatient Center in Lincoln Park - Clark Job Description General Summary of Position Responsibility: The Audiology Clinical Assistant works with the Audiologists in the comprehensive care of patients with potential and diagnosed hearing disorders. Under supervision of the licensed Audiologist, the clinical assistant participates in patient care, performs hearing device maintenance and maintains the environment of care. The position actively supports the hospital’s and the department’s Continuous Quality Improvement and customer service goals, individually and as an effective team member. This position also has an administrative component to support the job functions of the clinic. Essential Job Functions: Under the supervision of a licensed Audiologist, participates in patient care including: Prepare patient materials, equipment, and room based on appointment type Assist with hearing testing in two tester audiologic exams Assist with fitting of earmolds, hearing devices and accessories Assist with intervention programs (e.g., hearing loss prevention) Document patient encounters and DME information Under the supervision of a licensed Audiologist, performs hearing device maintenance including: Send hearing devices and accessories for repair Maintains the audiology clinic environment of care including: Assist with clerical duties (e.g., stocking of materials, recordkeeping, scheduling) Verify the function and safety of the environment with month rounds Verify the function of the equipment with weekly listening checks Perform infection control Maintain inventory of supplies Communicate with hearing device manufacturers/suppliers Order hearing devices, earmolds, and accessories, tracking as assigned Completes scanning of documents to EPIC and sends written communication to parents as needed. Participates in team meetings. Updates own knowledge base through continuing education, attendance at in-services and reading of literature. Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others. Other job functions as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School Diploma required. Prior experience working in a Rehab Services setting preferred. Ability to operate a personal computer and standard office equipment. Proficient with Microsoft applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel required. Ability to follow verbal and written directives with detail. Certification in CPR from the American Heart Association by completion of the AED Heartsaver Course within 90 days of initial hire date. Education High School Diploma/GED (Required) (BLS) - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Pay Range $19.50-$30.23 Hourly At Lurie Children’s, we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity, reflecting individual contributions, experience, and expertise.
