The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lead Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure and data-driven applications. A core part of this role will be large-scale database consolidation and migration to Microsoft Azure, requiring strong experience in cloud-based data solutions. This position requires deep expertise in SQL Server, Oracle, and a portion of the work will involve leveraging Palantir Foundry to build data pipelines and operational applications, including the integration of AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). Working Location This position has been designated as fully remote in the U.S. The Main Responsibilities Lead the database migration and consolidation effort from on-premises SQL Server and Oracle to a scalable, cloud-native architecture on Microsoft Azure. Rewrite and refactor existing SSIS packages into Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines, optimizing for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness in the cloud. Integrate and orchestrate data flows across multiple cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and GCP to support a multi-cloud enterprise environment. Develop and maintain robust data visualization solutions using Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). Design, develop, and maintain advanced data pipelines within Palantir Foundry, including the creation and management of Foundry Ontology objects to represent business data. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to build and deploy applications within Foundry using its low-code/no-code. Work with cutting-edge AI technologies, leveraging Palantir's Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) to integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and other AI capabilities into data pipelines and applications. Ensure end-to-end data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems and platforms. Participate in architectural reviews, define best practices. What We Look For in a Candidate Technical Skills and Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field. • 7+ years of professional experience in a data development, data engineering, or similar role. • Deep expertise in SQL Server and Oracle, including advanced T-SQL and PL/SQL. • Proven experience with data integration tools, specifically SSIS and Azure Data Factory (ADF). • Demonstrable experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure preferred), with familiarity in cloud services such as Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake Storage, or similar services in AWS and GCP. • Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry is highly desirable, including working with Datasets, Code Repositories, and the Foundry Ontology. • Experience with reporting and visualization tools, including Power BI and/or SSRS. • Familiarity with Python, and version control systems like Git. Preferred Skills and Certifications • Experience with Palantir AIP (Artificial Intelligence Platform) or similar platforms for working with LLMs. • Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Databricks Certified Data Engineer. • Experience with data governance and data cataloging tools. • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling principles. • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. Compensation This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location.
