Architect and build core authentication, backend infrastructure, and scalable Python systems for enterprise AI product integration.
Expert Python backend development, Kubernetes orchestration experience, security and authentication expertise, and ability to build 0-to-1 products in ambiguous environments.
The Opportunity Luma AI is a full-stack AI lab building Multimodal AGI. We train our own foundational models and build the products that sit on top of them. We combine the capital and compute resources of a major tech giant with the agility and individual ownership of a small, early-stage startup. Where You Come In We are establishing a new vertical to bridge our frontier research with the world’s largest creative organizations. You will be the foundational engineer for this initiative, architecting the systems that allow major partners to utilize our generative models securely and at scale. This is a high-agency role for a builder who thrives on defining technical direction from a blank canvas. What You Will Build The Foundation: Architect the core authentication and identity layer from scratch, implementing robust SSO and role-based access control systems that serve as the gateway to our intelligence. Enterprise Logic: Design the backend infrastructure for team management, billing, and shared workspaces, enabling collaborative creativity for thousands of users. Scale: Build high-throughput Python systems capable of handling complex, data-intensive workflows for our most sophisticated partners. The Profile We Are Looking For Builder DNA: You have a history of shipping 0-to-1 products. You prefer defining the architecture over maintaining legacy code. Technical Autonomy: You have the judgment to make high-stakes technical decisions in ambiguous environments, often operating as a team of one or two. Python Fluency: You possess expert-level proficiency in Python backend development and have experience with modern orchestration tools like Kubernetes. Security Intuition: You understand that trust is the product. You have successfully implemented enterprise-grade security and authentication patterns in previous builds.
