The Opportunity Luma AI is a full-stack AI lab dedicated to building multimodal intelligence. We operate with the compute resources and funding of a major tech company while maintaining the focused, high-velocity environment of an early-stage startup. This unique structure allows us to train our own foundational models and simultaneously build the products that sit on top of them. Where You Come In We believe that text alone is insufficient for true intelligence. To expand human imagination, we must build systems that see, hear, and understand. You will join a small, elite team of builders to invent the user interface for this new era. This role sits at the precise intersection of engineering and design, requiring you to translate complex AI capabilities into intuitive, magical, and buttery-smooth user experiences. What You Will Build The Feel of the Product: You will own the interaction design implementation, using motion and animation to make complex generative actions feel instantaneous and responsive. New UI Primitives: You will invent entirely new interface patterns for generative media that do not exist in standard component libraries, solving for the non-deterministic nature of AI. High-Fidelity Execution: You will work in a tight loop with our design team to translate ambitious concepts into pixel-perfect production reality, ensuring the software feels like a natural extension of the user’s mind. The Profile We Are Looking For Craft Obsession: You care deeply about the micro-interactions, timing, and physics of a user interface. You believe performance is a feature and lag is a bug. Design Fluency: You speak the language of designers and can take a high-level concept to a shipped feature without needing granular specifications. Technical Artistry: You possess expert-level command of React and TypeScript, with a portfolio demonstrating deep experience in animation libraries and custom interaction logic.
