Your Impact The Rental Operations Manager is accountable for the end-to-end performance of the Tool Rental business across a defined multi-store territory (typically 50–60 locations). This role owns sales results, fleet readiness, maintenance efficiency, operational execution, mechanic performance, and customer experience. The Rental Operations Manager ensures a rent-ready, safe, compliant fleet, drives revenue and profitability, develops mechanics and store teams, and partners closely with Store, District, and Field Leadership to execute Lowe's Rental strategy with discipline. This role blends operations leadership, maintenance oversight, and business management. What You Will Do Business & Financial Performance- Owns territory-level results for sales, profit, expenses, utilization, and quality. Uses reporting and real-time metrics to manage fleet status, maintenance, sales, and customer service performance. Fleet & Operations Leadership- Oversees preventative maintenance, repairs, down-tool management, and compliance for all rental equipment to ensure rental ready status Communicates fleet needs, issues, repair priorities, rates, and capacity constraints to SSC and partners. Partners with third-party vendors as needed to support large-equipment maintenance and repairs. Mechanical Oversight- Oversees evaluation and repair of small engines, large equipment, outdoor power equipment, and electrical tools. Partner with store leadership to ensure proper staffing of Tool Rental Mechanics by location People Leadership & Development- Provides coaching, performance feedback, and development plans for mechanics and rental associates. Drives accountability for process adherence, safety, and execution standards. Store & Field Partnership- Builds strong partnerships with Store Managers, District Leadership, and Tool Rental Supervisors. Leads and supports new Tool Rental location setups and rollouts, ensuring flawless execution. Leads change management for new programs, processes, and tools deployed to the field. Customer Experience- Ensures stores deliver consistent, professional rental service aligned with Lowe’s standards.
